Our Commitment

We started our operation in Malta in 2015. Since then, we have invested extensively in modernising our bus fleet making it safer, more environmentally friendly, and more comfortable. We already invested in 143 new buses with the latest Euro 6 diesel technology, and we plan to extend this investment throughout 2016 with an additional 33 new buses. This is a clear sign of our commitment to improve our bus users’ experience, as will have one of the most modern bus fleets in Europe.

Our buses are cleaned and maintained regularly, and are equipped with air-conditioning systems for added comfort. All our new buses have two doors to facilitate boarding and alighting of passengers.

We are at the forefront when it comes to innovative ticketing solutions. We invested in a new ticketing system and launched a new bus card in 2015 – the tallinja card. In just six months, more than half the Maltese population have a personalised tallinja card and over 85% of our passengers use a card when travelling by bus. This was a major achievement for the country as it has revolutionised the way people buy their bus tickets.

Our routes, frequencies and fares are regulated by the Authority for Transport in Malta. Throughout 2015 we implemented a major change to the route network following an extensive public consultation exercise carried out by government. Our bus network now includes over 2,000 bus stops in practically every locality enabling us to offer an easy way to travel around the islands.
