Tallinja Ferry Service

Tallinja Ferry Service

Valletta Ferry Services and Malta Public Transport have launched a new service whereby holders of a tallinja card can benefit from reduced rates when paying with their card for their journey on the Valletta ferries.

More than 270,000 holders of a tallinja card can now board the ferry and enjoy a number of benefits that had previously facilitated customer experience on the bus. These include faster boarding time, the convenience of not having to carry any loose change for tickets and, more importantly, cheaper rates. In fact, holders of an Adult, Gozo and Student tallinja card will only pay €1.30 for a single way trip on the ferry thus enjoying a saving of €0.20c. Holders of a Concession and Child tallinja card will only pay €0.45 for a single way trip instead of €0.50.

Route 133, the Valletta circular route, will now connect both ferry quays thus further improving the connectivity between the ferry quays and the centre of the Capital.

The tallinja ferry service will be operating along the below listed routes:

  • Sliema – Valletta – Sliema
  • Cospicua – Valletta – Cospicua

The service operates during the day as well as at night (see ferry schedule for details).

When travelling to Valletta on the ferry, a ticket will be issued for the Upper Barrakka lift. This will be free of charge and offers a more convenient and practical alternative to reach Valletta centre.
